Research and identify a concrete example of an ethics–based decision or practice made by a media or entertainment company. This example can pertain to mechanisms (internal) or products (external). Describe the example, taking care to point out one or more ethics–related concept from our discussions, lectures and/or textbook readings. Then answer the following:
• From a business ethics standpoint, how would you characterize the decision or practice?
• From a social or long-‐term standpoint, what are the broader implications of this
decision or practice?
• If it were your company, would you do anything differently? Please explain and describe.
The “Lone Rangers” team acted unprofessional and unprepared compared to the advice in the reading assignment materials, “Dealing with Lawyers”. The two gentlemen who hired the lawyer were not fully prepared and easily distracted with non-issue topics. Their issue did not seem to require a lawyer as much as they are not paying attention to their own legal issues and would rather spend money on hiring a lawyer instead of saving money.
It is recommended they hire a lawyer who has experience in the specific field they needed advice for. However, the lawyer they saw was recommended to them from a friend, which is another option of finding a good lawyer.
